Swim
Comments: Bad bad bad. At least I finished it. Lets see, I did some backstroke, some breast stroke, some free style, finally. AND my goggles kept leaking. I guess on a positive note, I was not DFL and I helped give motivation to the guy who was DFL. He nearly got out of the swim and I told him to not stop. Just rest and flip over on his back. I found him after the race and he had finished. What would you do differently?: I'm going to see a sports shrink. I think now my biggest enemy on the swim is ME. It's my mind. Once that gun goes off, my heart races and all of a sudden I can't put my face in the water. Even with a proper warm-up. Switch to duathlons. Transition 1
Comments: I might as well as fired up a grill and had a bbq, it took me so long. What would you do differently?: HTFU Bike
Comments: Had hoped to have faster bike split, but overall, I can't be disappointed What would you do differently?: Well, considering I really hadn't ridden much- maybe only 100 miles or so, since Muncie, I should be happy with this. Ride more. Transition 2
Comments: I excel at T2. Why don't they give prizes for this?? :) What would you do differently?: Nothing. Run
Comments: Enjoyed this run. Trail/road/trail. What would you do differently?: Considering that my training overall has been down since Muncie and the trail half marathon I just did, I was happy. Run more. Train for the race. :) Post race
Warm down: None- chatting with friends. What limited your ability to perform faster: Me and my mind on the swim. Not training as intensely since Muncie and the half mary. Event comments: Had a good time now that I've had time to quit beating myself up about the swim. What really made this race great was that so many of my Lafayette TriClub friends were there. I'm a lucky person to be able to do this and to have made so many great friends Last updated: 2011-09-07 12:00 AM

Up at 4am, had 2 eggs and some turkey bacon. Rode over to the race with John Mason.
Got in the lake and swam, about 300 yds, hoping that would help me having a better swim.
