Swim
Comments: started at the back of the group, took my time, got my goggles kicked off my face and a toe nail scratch across my face. What would you do differently?: start at the front Transition 1
Comments: I did not practice transition with my new bike/first triathlon bike. It was not as easy getting into my shoes as it is with my older bike. I almost fainted when I got to my bike. I had to lean on the bike rack with my head down for a moment (about 10 seconds). Bike
Comments: I started off the ride strong, averaging about 24mph for the first 12-15 miles but on after the first turn around I could feel the headwind and my speed fell to about 22mph. On the second lap it became uncomfortable staying in the aero position because my upper body weight had caused the right elbow rest to tilt downwards. water bottle on the top tube was somewhat in the way especially when pedaling out of the saddle. What would you do differently?: need to set water bottle between the aero bars rather than on the top tube. Transition 2
Comments: waited til the last minute to get feet out of the shoes and only managed to get one foot out before the dismount line. What would you do differently?: remember to take feet out early Run
Comments: I was already tired when I started to run so it was a matter of trying to survive to the finish. I ran slow for as long as I could then walked, then ran some more, then walked, then ran a little more. It was the longest 13.1 miles I ever ran. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: had a nasty cold Event comments: Well organized. Last updated: 2011-09-07 12:00 AM
