Swim
Comments: Ok, this was interesting. I tried to calm myself...wasn't nervous about the water. Once it started. Couldn't get a rythum or a comfort level with my breathing. Back stroked a bit, got worried I wouldn't finish a bit. I did...got sea-sick after. Next time take your bonine. What would you do differently?: Not much. Just need more training and of course take my bonine. Lost about 3 minutes in transition due to dizziness. Transition 1
Comments: My first, so I don't want to be too critical, but from what I heard, the transition area was not well planned. It was alright for me....I'm not to the point that I'm terribly worried about this yet. What would you do differently?: Get some multi-purpose gear...Otherwise, felt good...and the bonine. Bike
Comments: Best part of the race for me. Felt great and did great. Passed tons of people and was only passed by a few. This totally saved my swim and transition. Felt great the whole time. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Went better than I expected. Transition 2
Comments: Ok with this transition. went fine. Kind of a long run to my bike, but not so much to complain. What would you do differently?: Won't change shirts next time. Didn't take long, but unnecessary. Also, find a new energy gel. Those cubes are hard to eat when you're breathing heavy. Run
Comments: Run would have been great as well, if not for the cramp in my right rib cage..out of nowhere. Nothing else felt bad, except the cramp. Goal was to not stop, which I didn't. First half was rough, but much easier on way back. What would you do differently?: Unsure at this point. I'm sure the cramp came for a reason...otherwise, was happy with the run. Post race
Warm down: Not much. Walked round...ate a banana and shared some laughs. Pretty good warm down for my first one. What limited your ability to perform faster: Unsure. I will find out at some point..right now just proud of the achievement. Event comments: Like I said, I think an experienced tri person will have more to say. I rated it good due to the weather and my great experience. Didnt' hang around long, but the town is a great place to stay and have fun afterwards. Last updated: 2011-09-10 12:00 AM

Ate a Clif bar and cup of coffee - 4:30 am. Drove up to the event, dropped of my gear and parked. No turning back now. On my way to my first event.
Did a short jog to burn off the nervous energy. Stretched a bit. Too much nervous excitment to focus on a warm-up.
