What would you do differently?: I don't think I could change much...I felt smooth in the water, and didn't have a panic attack. Time was improved. Transition 1
Comments: Had a little bit of issue getting sand off my feet. Nothing major. Bike
What would you do differently?: I think I could have pushed a few sections harder than I did. I was being conservative to see how I felt for my run. I also feel like I should have consumed more fluids on the bike. I didn't even finish a 24oz bottle. I don't know what effect that had on my race, but I just felt water logged as it was. Transition 2
Run
Comments: I had an odd side stitch for about the first 3 miles. It was right under my right rib cage. I couldn't figure out what was causing it. My guess is my breathing was out of sync with my stride or something. My heart rate was well within range, and it went away for the second half of the race, as my pace picked up. Post race
Warm down: fluids, food, and some stretching. Then cheering on other friends that hadn't finished. What limited your ability to perform faster: Hills Event comments: Well run race. Lots of people were getting lost on the wrong side of the lake, so the start was delayed 15 mins to allow people to get there. Gave the sun a little bit more time to come up, and I thought it was cool of them to wait for other competitors. Last updated: 2011-09-11 12:00 AM
