Swim
Comments: Ran into the water and dove through the first wave. THe wave dislodged my HR monitor strap, which ended up around my waist. It is quite difficult to swim and get the HR strap back up around my chest and under my tri top. What would you do differently?: Make sure HR strap stays in place. Transition 1
Comments: Lots of dirt and debris sticking to the feet. No foot bath to wash sand off feet off of beach. What would you do differently?: Run harder. Bike
Comments: HR was off the chart out of T1 after the swim. Took it smooth and easy to settle HR and get into the pace. Drank too much on the bike. Almost had stomach issues on the run. Pace was good. Annoying to see people passing you while they draft other people. What would you do differently?: Drink less water. Transition 2
Comments: Dirt all over feet again. What would you do differently?: Have a larger towel that I can stand on and clean feet while takin goff bike helmet. Run
Comments: Felt ok on the run. Heat and humidity make it hard to cool down. I drank a little much on the bike and had some discomfort but no major issues. Pushed hard at the end and passed a guy right before the finish line. What would you do differently?: Push pace a bit harder with 2 miles to go. Post race
Warm down: Some stretches, walked around a bit. What limited your ability to perform faster: Bike fitness. Event comments: Event was on time and had lots of volunteers. No food post race and recovery drink tasted like junk. Only posted top 10 times ans splits. Does not break T1 and T2 out of your times (had to do on my own based on my own watch). Got up early and had breakfast. I was all packed so I loaded the car and headed to East Coast Park. Set up transition and checked out the course and transition exits. Gu Roctane 15 minutes before swim start.
Short swim in the ocean to warm up.
