Swim
Comments: ok swim, felt good. no wetsuit. water warm. tried to stay strong but not as strong as I thought, oh well. seeded in middle. hadnt been swimming much. Transition 1
Comments: minimalist tri ! popped my shirt on, didnt struggle with getting it down over wet body just let it fall later. no socks in bike shoes, no sunglasses. just shirt, helmet, shoes and go! Bike
Comments: Let tos, my uber son, use my road bike while I used my old 80's steel tri bike w the 650 wheels and neon yellow bar tape! pushed the bike as hard as I could. no computer. just rode hard. saw tos heading in on bike while i was heading out. What would you do differently?: all good Transition 2
Comments: running shoes stuck on heels slowed me down a little. no socks, pre-talced the shoes too. just run forrest!! Run
Comments: got into a pace right off, pushed into positive thought mode and fought off the evil "your tired, you cant run" thoughts. kept ticking off the miles. Pushed it as hard as I could. saw tos heading in on his run while i was heading out, he looked good and I was that far behind. What would you do differently?: talc the sides and heels of shoes Post race
Warm down: keep moving, find some shade, catch up with tos about his race, found out I had beat him!!!!!! by 4 minutes! What limited your ability to perform faster: swim sucked (wish I could swim like my son, he did a 7:30 swim and he doesnt work at it) bike was good even for the old steel bike maybe w better bike I could have pushed over 20mph, run was good since I hadnt done much all week or worked at speed Very happy w 9th in division! top ten! Event comments: good race org. super weather day! super fun time w my son racing. Last updated: 2011-09-12 12:00 AM
