Run
Comments: Where to start the race is pretty unique. I have not run a race of this distance that had this kind of elevation change,5,561 feet. Add in the fact that you are on gravel and dirt and it makes this challenging but a good time. The course is well planned and minimal traffic on mostly minimum maintenance roads. And I am not too far off base with the amount of hills you encounter. The support was top notch as well. I liked the race but I was just not as prepared for the hills as I thought. I will do this again. What would you do differently?: Just try to get in some more time offroad running. other than that my endurance was there but my knees weren't. Post race
Warm down: sat and let the knees relax. Then eventually made it down to the Catering place for grub. Again really good food and enough food and drink to get me up and running again. What limited your ability to perform faster: left knee mostly. First time I have not been able to sprint the end of a race. tried but just could not push the knee. Event comments: look forward to bettering my time in the future. Last updated: 2011-09-12 12:00 AM
