Run
Comments: I'm exceedingly happy with this run and feel that I was prepared for everything. I knew the elevation profile, I knew the course and I knew my goals for pacing. I forced myself to stick to my pace for each section of the course, and nailed it. I ran the entire time, didn't even walk the water stations. Made it to the end of the uphill at mile 7.3 and as planned had enough in the tank to drop the hammer and bump up my pace for the last three miles. What would you do differently?: Nothing. I have higher goals now that I did so well this year, so next time what I'll do is train harder and get faster. Well, actually next year I'm doing the full 26.2 so it doesn't matter. Post race
Warm down: Snacked on bananas, poweraid, Nut Rolls. Went over and got into the massage tent and had my legs rubbed down a little. Then went and walk/jogged the last 8 miles of the marathon course with my wife who's quads had seized up and couldn't run anymore. I refused to let her quit and we got to the finish line with 10 minutes to spare before the meat wagon. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing Event comments: I see myself returning to either the 10 Mile or the Full Marathon for many years to come. The phrase, "Most Beautiful Urban Marathon in America" is very true and fitting for this race. Last updated: 2011-09-12 12:00 AM

Woke up early and had a bunch of breakfast snacks like pop tarts and clif bars.
Walked the 6 blocks from the hotel to the start line, then stretched and tried to stay warm inside the Metrodome.
