Run
Comments: I went out easy because I didn't know how I was going to feel during the race. The couple of weeks prior I had been having GI issues and was quite exhausted. I wasn't able to hold pace in my run or bike workouts. So I took it easy. What would you do differently?: Nothing. It turned out to be an excellent strategy for me. Perhaps I should have run just a little faster, but I didn't know how I'd respond to a fast pace. Transition 1
Comments: Still put my bike shoes on prior to getting the bike. What would you do differently?: Need to work on a running mount for next season. Bike
Comments: Pushed hard on the first loop and dialed it back a little on the second. This was smart since it saved my legs for the run. What would you do differently?: Nothing Transition 2
Comments: Still did a regular dismount. What would you do differently?: Need to work on a running dismount for next season. Run
Comments: A fast first mile and then settled into a good pace for the rest. A great run! What would you do differently?: Try to negative split or hold a consistent pace for the full distance. Post race
Warm down: Walking, stretching What limited your ability to perform faster: I was worried that my GI issues during the prior weeks and my tiredness would have a negative effect on my race. I started slow because of that. Event comments: A good small race that helps raise money for a local Pediatric ward. Last updated: 2011-09-13 12:00 AM

A few days earlier I learned that the Triathlon had been changed to a Duathlon because of all the flooding from Irene & Lee. Too much fecal matter in the water for it to be safe.
Short bike ride followed by 1 mile run, stretching.
