Comments: Last year I ran about a perfect race here. This year I was just out too fast despite really trying to hold back. It eventually caught up to me around mile 9. What would you do differently?: My fitness fell off because I started coaching a youth swim team in early Sept. I could feel my fitness going away. I wanted to break 1:45, but still PRed by almost 3 minutes. Post race
Warm down: Eat a bunch of pizza and wait for my friends to finish. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of training down the stretch really hurt me. If I had the same fitness level I had from my July half I think I could have gone close to 1:45. That and VERY windy. That and my weight has been stagnant. For almost 48, 225#, and only about 16-18 miles a week, I guess I have to be pretty happy! Event comments: Just keeps getting better every year. Very good first half.
