Swim
Comments: Felt good about my swim. It took a little while to settle in at my good pace because of all the kicking. The whole time, a friend of mine was next to me (I'll be darned if she will beat me!) so we pushed eachother. When we got about 50yards from the stairs, she was still right next to me so I pushed hard and got out before her. What would you do differently?: More swim practice. I swam in high school and have been relying on that to get me through the swim in my last tris with little practice. Transition 1
Comments: First time to wear wetsuit so getting it off that quick was tricky! Wetsuit off, shirt shorts socks shoes helmet sunglasses on and off running with my bike. Because of how my bike went in the rack, I was running with the bike on my left side, but I am a righty so it was a little akward What would you do differently?: Take the extra time to grab the bike on my right Bike
Comments: The bike kills me on my time. I have been working on it and am slowly improving. I felt like every time I got comfortable and going good, there was a turn-around or rail road tracks. I am used to having to go around obstacles so the tracks were not hard, but many people crashed and many flat tires. What would you do differently?: More riding. I am disappointed with my ride, I thought I had improved more than I showed Transition 2
Comments: Once again, someone stole my rack so I took a few seconds to decide what to do with my bike. I ended up setting it up against the bike that was in my rack. My mom later asked me why I was just walking around. She is used to a much faster T2 What would you do differently?: Nothing Really Run
Comments: It was a good run, but there were still people walking and riding on the boardwalk. I beat my previous Tri 5K time by about a minute so steady improvements! As I rounded the corner to go out to the finish, a friend told me I was at 1:40 and although I wanted to beat that, my ultimate goal was 1:45 so him telling me that pushed me the last 1/4mile. What would you do differently?: More training (this is becoming a theme) Post race
Warm down: Walked around with family and friends. Drank lots of water and waited for friends to come in. What limited your ability to perform faster: I am slow. No Doubt about it! I just need more time training. Unlike most people, I live in the desert so it is not very possible to train during the summer. I am excited for the weather to cool off so I can get outside again. Event comments: This was my first race with friends competing and someone other than just my mom there to watch. I put a lot more pressure on myself to do better and although I Improved my time, i dont feel like it was enough. The race was fun. Last updated: 2011-09-17 12:00 AM

Woke up and picked up two friends at 5am, drove to Convention Center Parking and got bikes and gear out then set up transition. Ate Ritz Peanut-Butter crackers and drank a gatorade.
We were in the water about 5 min before start so had time to get used to water and swim a little bit.
