Bike
Comments: A flat at the 5 mile mark slow down this segment. It gave me a chance to see that it takes me to change a flat when time matters. After the flat was fixed, I was able to get back up to speed and pass a number of people. What would you do differently?: Make sure to check the wear on tire before race Transition 2
Run
Comments: Due to trying to make up time on the bike, following the flat, the legs were in no shape to run a good pace. Post race
Warm down: Caught up on liguids and ate a couple of cookies, What limited your ability to perform faster: The flat time caused the del;ay itself, plus it is hard to get going again after being off the bike. A bottle of cytomax and a cliff bar for breakfast.
Prepared the cytomax bottles for the bike. Load the gear into the truck and drive to the park.
Rode 4-5 miles to loosen up the legs. Followed that up with about a mike of light jogging. Though I did start the warmup too soon and was left standing in the cold too long.
