  • 437 yards
  • 02m 14s / 100 yards
Comments:

The Mrs said there were a few ppl in my category behind me on the swim but website said I was second last?

Got a bit crowded at start but found my own ground and just took my time. Didn't worry about my position but pleased to see I wasn't last.
What would you do differently?:

Train more if anything
Transition 1
  • 00m
Comments:

Took my time. Sat on ground to put bike shoes on as they are a bit of a pain.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing

Bike
  • 38m 19s
  • 9.32 miles
  • 14.59 mile/hr
Comments:

Enjoyed the bike. Was feeling the short hill by the third lap but overall felt good and was 3 minutes faster than last year.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing

Transition 2
  • 00m
Comments:

Started to feel the heat as soon as I stopped the bike with no breeze to cool me down.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Run
  • 27m
  • 2.49 miles
  • 10m 50s  min/mile
Comments:

The heat was taking it's toll now. It was just draining and I wasn't the only one taking a couple of walking breaks. Drank and poured at the drinks stations.
What would you do differently?:

Not much I could do differently really as the problem wasn't really me.

Post race
Warm down:

Stood around and talked with friends. Ate some fruit and drank some Gatorade.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The heat was a big limiter today but taking the month of August off training didn't help.

Event comments:

I like this race as it's only about a mile from my front door and always well organised. the post race fruit wasn't as good as it usually is.
