![]() Swim
Comments: Need to check ranks. What would you do differently?: Not much. I really thought I had a good swim. Felt solid, smooth and easy the whole time. Sighting was OK and I kept out of traffic most of the time. ![]() Transition 1
Comments: Race clock didn't get my time, but I have it on my watch. Was panting out of the water (as usuall) but did OK getting into and out of transition. It was tight, but I was one of the first on my row out of the water. Had to go back briefly since I ran over my sock and it stuck to my bike. What would you do differently?: Move my sock! ![]() Bike
Comments: A big draft pack passed me towards the end of the second loop, which distracted me. I thought about trying to get in 3 bike lengths back, but didn't. I am sure the drafting helped them a TON. I rode harder than I usually would, but felt good on the bike, even though I knew I would suffer on the run. I need to work on the hills some! ![]() Transition 2
Comments: Good T2. Slowed a little at the end, got my feet out of the shoes and was ready to dismount. Felt good. ![]() Run
Comments: I suck! I was really hoping to have a run like I did at Tri-Miami earlier this year, but just couldn't get myself going. Had one of those runs where nothing seems wrong, but every step is a challenge. Did the first mile in 9:30, and just got slower from there. Never really found my pace. I think this is my slowest run in a tri in two years. What would you do differently?: Sleep more in the days before the race! I wasn't well rested, and it really showed. ![]() Post race
Warm down: Wait for friends at the finish. Drank 3 bottles of water and strecthed. What limited your ability to perform faster: Not enough sleep. I had insomnia for 4 days before the race. Event comments: Swim start was a mess. They put out start bouys, but didn't enforce the start. Choose to do one or the other. Last updated: 2011-09-26 12:00 AM
