Swim
Comments: This was one of those that I thought I was swimming well - then saw my time at the end and said - wth happened? What would you do differently?: Not sure... Transition 1
Comments: No transitions in this race were timed - the bikes were right on the road - I did help someone next to me get her singlet on during my transition. Bike
Comments: Felt good on the bike despite the challenging terrain. Transition 2
Comments: No transitions in this race. I was pretty slow though. Couldn't take my feet out of the shoes leading into transition as the transition comes right at the bottom of a screaming downhill. My dismount was less than stellar. Run
Comments: I remember getting pretty hot - took water 2x which I usually do not do on a course this length. Pushed pretty hard to catch the woman in front of me - she was 25 seconds in front of me and appeared to be my age (which she was). Post race
Warm down: Nothing to speak of - hung with Mom, AD and the kids - Mike wasn't able to make this race. What limited your ability to perform faster: my SWIM! UGH! Event comments: I enjoyed this race and would do it again - love the feel of a small, hometown race. This one has been around for 30 years so that felt just really cool. I was one of only 2 people with aero helmets - I just like that. No wetsuits allowed. Even playing field. And the hilliness of both the bike and the run is nice and challenging. I do prefer a sprint to be "flatter" to do better, but I enjoyed my first post-Ironman race. Last updated: 2011-09-27 12:00 AM
