Run
Comments: Great race. I paced well and the cool temperature kept everything feeling good throughout. Great fan support along the course (the hill with all of the Livestrong-ers was fantastic). Great city for a run, challenging course, friendly volunteers and fellow racers. I had a great time before, during and after the race. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Compared to all of my prior races I was exactly the weight I wanted to be for this race and it is reflected in my results (a new PR). Post race
Warm down: Walked over a few blocks to meet up with my wife and get picked up. The walk (and food I ate during it - chips, gatorade, water) did me good and I recovered from this race better than any race I've done before (I was out running 2 days later). What limited your ability to perform faster: I paced conservatively but I think that worked out really well in this case since I felt good all the way to the end. I should have taken water or gatorade at the last water stop but I figured it was only a mile or so to the finish - in retrospect, I probably should have taken a quick drink. Event comments: Great race. Good organization. Challenging course and a great crowd (racers and volunteers). I'd love to come back and do it again some day. Last updated: 2011-10-02 12:00 AM

Got up, got ready and my brother-in-law drove my wife and I to the start line. Easy as could be.
Stood around, waited on line for the portapotties (never got to the front), and then wandered over to the starting area to get in the right estimated finish area.
