Overall Rank = /
Age Group = 30-34
Age Group Rank = 53/95
Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 4:45, out the door by 5. Picked up Mom and stopped at Starbucks for coffee, sat in some traffic, and got to the race site by about 6. (Note: next time leave earlier to avoid seriously annoying traffic/parking). Ate a Honey Stinger Waffle (YUM).
Event warmup:

The walk from the transition area to the swim start is warmup enough.
Swim
  • 10m 20s
  • 547 yards
  • 01m 53s / 100 yards
Comments:

I can't say that I'm unhappy with my time but the swim could've been better. I had two things going against me. One was that I only got in the pool once about 1.5 weeks before the race, so my arms burned a bit. Two was the asthma-like condition I seem to have developed recently. I felt short of breath and it was quite uncomfortable.
What would you do differently?:

Train more, inhaler before race.
Transition 1
  • 03m 32s
Comments:

I was feeling a bit winded when I got into transition and it slowed me down. Not sure what I was doing for three and a half minutes (seriously?) but I think I could've really cut this time down had I not been trying to catch my breath.
What would you do differently?:

Inhaler...
Bike
  • 38m 59s
  • 9.32 miles
  • 14.34 mile/hr
Comments:

The first part of the bike was difficult due to being so winded from the swim, but once I calmed down it went pretty well. I do need to work on my bike handling skills.
What would you do differently?:

More training, more practice.
Transition 2
  • 02m 19s
Comments:

Off the top of my head I can't really think of anything I could've done differently, though quick laces might help...
What would you do differently?:

Not sure
Run
  • 33m 52s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 10m 53s  min/mile
Comments:

The first mile was hard due to seized up calves. Once I loosened up a bit it was ok except then I was short of breath again. Fortunately it didn't get too bad and I was able to finish strong.
What would you do differently?:

Train more for bike/swim to avoid seized up calves, and inhaler in transition.
Post race
Warm down:

Walking back to the car...

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Breathing difficulties, undertraining for bike and swim, extra weight on my body.

Event comments:

The parking situation is nerve wracking, getting there early is better.
