Total Time = 2h 59m 1s
Overall Rank = /
Age Group = Novice
Age Group Rank = 15/22
Pre-race routine:

Nothing special
Event warmup:

Just stretch. It was really cold outside and I really didn't want to enter the water and catch a cold.
Swim
  • 33m 59s
  • 1500 meters
  • 02m 16s / 100 meters
What would you do differently?:

train more and more, specially breathing to both sides instead of just to the left
Transition 1
  • 04m 12s
Comments:

I took a long time to put my t-shirt and my socks and snickers. I am sure you can do this much faster. Overall, not that bad for the first race, but you can definitely do it faster.
What would you do differently?:

Use a wetsuit and have all my clothes and number tag with me as soon as I get out of the pool. I changed my t-shirts twice during the race... not a good idea.
Bike
  • 1h 21m 24s
  • 24.85 miles
  • 18.32 mile/hr
Comments:

I was already tired by the second lap and I have an old bike. Unfortunately, the bike can save you many minutes and I realized this during the race.
What would you do differently?:

Maybe have a better bike
Transition 2
  • 04m 23s
Comments:

I had to use the restroom. That could kill your T2 time, for sure.
What would you do differently?:

Try and have the same t-shirt during the whole race instead of exchanging them during the race
Run
  • 55m 10s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 08m 53s  min/mile
Comments:

I consider this to be my strength, but unfortunately I had a problem with my knee after just 3 kilometers. I am sure I could have ran the distance in 50 minutes, or so.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing, just pray that the next time my knee helps me and don't bother until the end of the race
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

It was my first race and I think I learned that technique is very important. For example, during your swim, it is not good to be stopping every 2 minutes to check where are you going. You can loose a lot of time doing this.
The bike is very important. Just try and get a good bike for this.

Event comments:

I completely recommend this experience. It was a great day that I hope I can repeat many times from now on.

Course: If you breath to your left (my case), the second 500m leg was quite difficult because of the waves. Other than that, great place to swim.
