Swim
  • 27m
  • 1640 yards
  • 01m 39s / 100 yards
Comments:

took it easy on the swim. the fact the lake was so low because of the drought caused me big prolems at the end. having to wade through that muck for 50 yards kind of took it out of me.
Transition 1
  • 04m 30s
Comments:

no problems taking off the wetsuit. wading through the muck at the end was a big pain. seemed like a long run up to transition. i decided to take my time getting everything together. didn't think it was taking me nearly 5 minutes though!
What would you do differently?:

hope it rains more so the lake fills up!
Bike
  • 1h 16m
  • 24.85 miles
  • 19.62 mile/hr
Comments:

I train where it's pretty flat so any hills at all just eat me up. Knew that going in so was not surprised. Going out on the new concrete road was fun, tailwind and downhill. May have been the fastest I've ever gone on a bike. Heading back--not so much. Uphill into the wind-killed my speed.
What would you do differently?:

Maybe try and find a few more hills to train on. Could have pushed it a little more.
Transition 2
  • 02m 30s
Comments:

Again took my time- maybe could speed things up a bit.
Run
  • 50m 30s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 08m 08s  min/mile
Comments:

Went "old school" and ran without my Garmin. Was just trying to calculate pace in my head as I went which ended up not working so well. Need to be less dependent on technology!
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

Big hill out of transition.

Event comments:

Fun race. Picked this one because of the date and the fact that it was going to be a more challenging course than what I've raced on before. Race weather was ideal. Could have pushed it a little harder on the run but if we all were completely satisfied we wouldn't have to race anymore!
