![]() Swim
Comments: "I'm not that *strong* of a swimmer." My form is okay, but breathing continues to be a serious problem. I have to take a break from freestyle very often. I'm also still not comfortable in the crowd, and so I waste time trying to get out of the main melee. One guy who was backstroking the whole way probably swam over me 12 times (which is also a bad sign of my speed if he could catch up to me that many times even though he was zigzagging around). What would you do differently?: Need way more practice and to figure out why my breathing is off. It's not endurance, it's just something wrong with breathing period. ![]() Transition 1
Comments: I had to take a bio-break on the way into T1, and from then on I took it easy more or less, since I wasn't on track for any prizes or world records. What would you do differently?: I'll worry about T speed when I get faster in the other parts. ![]() Bike
Comments: Although I was pretty slow comparatively, I enjoyed it a lot more and felt stronger than the first race. The hills were fun, but highlighted how much improvement I need to make on climbs. The temp and cross-winds made for a chilly ride at first, but not too bad, and didn't think much about it after halfway into the ride. It was a fun ride. What would you do differently?: Need more time on the bike, especially on hills. ![]() Transition 2
![]() Run
Comments: A fun run, great course volunteers throughout. Felt good, can definitely improve, but enjoyed it. What would you do differently?: More work on running after biking. ![]() Post race
Warm down: Water, oranges, walk around a lot. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of experience, weak swimming and not enough experience on the bike yet. Event comments: It was a great race, the volunteers on this one were particularly nice, even the participants seemed nicer than in other races (maybe it was the weather and being the last race). I really enjoyed it. Last updated: 2011-10-03 12:00 AM

Wake up, fix cup of terrible hotel coffee, drive around in the dark looking for race site (didn't get there in time the night before to see the course ahead of time).
