Comments: Start was delayed due to runners still being in traffic. My biggest gripe with the course was the lack of mile markers. I really felt like I was doing crappy, but it turns out I was only slower than my PR by one second! The previous two weeks haven't been great for sleep and I've been overworked, but I feel great about the results. I also had a major blister from something jabbing me in my shoe, but couldn't figure it out the one time I stopped. It eventually bled through my shoe, but oh well. What would you do differently?: Nothing much really. I felt like I slacked on the hills a little. Post race
Warm down: Walked around because I had a stitch right at the end. Had some saltines and ginger ale later. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of sleep and rest the week before. Also, poor eating habits. Event comments: Needs mile markers on course. Also, reorganize the final water station before the Severn River bridge. Had to get out of the car due to traffic, but turns out I had plenty of time. Jogged around the stadium parking area and stretched. Had some bites of a peanut butter sandwich.
Mainly tried to keep warm due to the 36 degree temperature at the start, but my gear did its job.
