Run
Comments: It was a mass start, and I didn't want to get in the way of folks wanting to go out hard. I started out at a decent pace, but my Garmin showed below a 6:30/mile pace. Since I haven't run below 7:00, I slowed down some, but my goal was a sub 7 pace for the first 2 miles. What would you do differently?: I was very happy with the time. Transition 1
Comments: Slowed down in transition so I wouldn't screw up. Everything went well. I'm happy with the time. What would you do differently?: Pretty happy with the time. I could start thinking about putting the shoes on the bike. Bike
Comments: Started off well, but again screwed up the Garmin during transition. I passed a lot of folks especially on the second lap. I was passed by a few speed demons as well. What would you do differently?: Be more aggressive on the bike. This was my worst part judging by my rankings, as I lost a few places on the bike. Transition 2
Comments: My rack was first row coming in off the bike. No trouble finding it. What would you do differently?: I ranked 6/22 here, so I felt good. Run
Comments: Left transition with one goal: break 7 minute pace. My back and legs were a little stiff. I also drank too much on the bike. My plan was not to drink on any run. My stomach was sloshing as I took off. I latched onto a quicker runner in the AG after me, and tried to hang on. My stomach settled down and I was able to pass him after a mile or so. Then I just concentrated on reeling in the next guys in front of me. Caught a guy in my AG just before the finish. What would you do differently?: At this point, I couldn't be happier with my times. Post race
Warm down: Stretched out and had a free Muscle Milk. What limited your ability to perform faster: Just need to keep training. Event comments: I really enjoyed the faster pace of the Duathlon. Look forward to more next year. Last updated: 2011-10-04 12:00 AM

Woke up at 4:00am, since this race was over an hour away. Made a PB&J, loaded up my transition bag (not much, its a duathlon), and my bike. On the road by 5:15am.
Did some active stretching to warm up. It was nice and cool out for the first time in months. It was great!
