Comments:

The lake was super low, so there was a walk out in the mud. The lake starting rising in the morning so the sight bouys drifted off course... pretty tough to spot the small white course bouys through a field of irrelevant bright orange sight bouys. They reported 74 degrees... I think it could have been a tad warmer.

Comments:

A four loop course. Good for spectating and keeping an eye on competition (if you could remember who was in your race and what lap they were on). Perfect amount of aid stations. It got a little warm towards the end of the run, but nothing horrible.

This is a really solid race. Better swag, equal support, and less attitude than the three past "official" 1/2 IM events I've done. Plus the price is a bargain compared to the official IM stuff... we look dopey enough for doing these things in the first place, to drop $700 just to sign up is just plain stupid.

Course: The bike course was about perfect... some rolling hills just to break things up. The roads were a bit rough in a few spots, but overall I thought this was an excellent course. I feared the wind, but it never amounted to much.
