Swim
Comments: Went in towards the end of the wave, trying to stay out of the fray. Got into a bit of a groove and I was OK. Started struggling half way through and started doing some side strokes to ease the breathing. I have to get better on the breathing. All in all, I was happy with the whole swim. What would you do differently?: Continue working on swim form and technique, emphasis on breathing. Transition 1
Comments: The start was less then what I would like, but not bad for my second race. Got into the groove early and kept between 20 and 21. Dismount went well. What would you do differently?: I need to work on mounts during the winter. Bike
Comments: The course was well managed and the volunteers did a great good. There was some obvious drafting, but it looks like a bunch of penalties were handed out. What would you do differently?: More practice on mounts and dismounts. Transition 2
Run
Comments: And so the wheels fall off. I know I'm not fast at any of these, but the run just killed me. I really need to get better on the run. I will work on this over the winter. What would you do differently?: Keep working on the running, gotta get better. Post race
Event comments: This is an enjoyable venue. I will be back. Well managed, lots of volunteers and a nice course. While I am not a fan of the beach run, it was all nicely done. Last updated: 2011-10-23 12:00 AM

Woke up at 4:20 and had a bagel and banana before leaving the house. Arrived, checked in and setup fairly quickly and easily. Waited a bit, then wandered down to the start beach. Kept on the warmup jacket as long as possible.
Static and dynamic stretches. stayed out of the water, as I didn't want to freeze my butt off. This Florida boy was cold.
