Run
Comments: I think the purple hair and costume wings I was wearing must have given me a boost of energy... or maybe it was the awesome weather... or possibly all of the training I've done lately, but this was my best 10K ever! I started in the back so I could start out comfortably with my wife as she ran only her second 5K ever. What would you do differently?: If I had started a little farther out front and didn't have so much traffic to negotiate through I could have done a little better, but the run was great, so who is complaining? Post race
Warm down: Normal trot for a few steps and flop on the ground! What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing significant. Event comments: I really enjoyed the race. It was surprising that they had to change the date from Saturday to Sunday because of a venue conflict, so lots of people that paid for the race did not show up. Helps to explain how I ended up on the podium :-) Stuff happens though and given the circumstances the production crew and volunteers did a very good job. Last updated: 2011-11-03 12:00 AM

Watched my 6 year old and my 4 year old run in the kids 1K for their first race. It was so much fun! My daughter was quite the little diva, slowing down to smile and wave at the crowd as she came to the finish line!
No chance for a warmup other than very light stretching.
