Run
Comments: Was doing very good and was below a 4 hr pace throughout the 25K mark. My legs cramped up and I had to walk for about 4 miles than I was able to run but not at a great pace. The cramp was in my calves and felt like a baseball was in my muscle. I drank at every drink station - usually the gatoraid, I also had a 20oz bottle of gu bur i finished during the race. I ate GU about every 40 min, I also grabbed a Cliff shot at about mile 13 and a sport bean about mile 18. What would you do differently?: I think I need to run some of my long runs before the race at a faster pace. I am not sure what to do about the cramping but I need to work this out. Post race
Warm down: The shoot at the end forces quite a long walk i do not know for sure but about 1/2 mile walk What limited your ability to perform faster: The cramps Event comments: Very well organized and the marines could not have been more helpful, the only problem is that there are so many people there is a lot of waiting both in the beginning and the end but they do a good job with it all Last updated: 2011-11-03 12:00 AM

I had to get up early as i needed to take the metro to the race, woke up at 4:15 arrived at race around 6:15. It was cold ate 2 bananas, drank about 30ox water and ate protein bar, ate dried pineapple. Went to the bathroom multiple times and than went to the race start, there was a big line started with the 4-4-30 finish group.
Not much I guess the walk from the pre are to the start about 5 min walk but other than that very little, it was a 6 min run just to get to the start line so there was some worm up.
