Run
Comments: I ran the first loop in step with my wife. She runs closer to a 12 minute mile, and has been rebuilding after some knee issues. She did the 10k and I wanted to make sure I didn't burn up on the first 5k and not be able to do the rest. The course was fairly crowded and had a few nice costumes, but we just ran pretty close those first 3 miles. After the first loop I told her that I was going to run my pace (as we had discussed) and I took off. I tried to keep a fairly slow pace and walked the water stations but I managed to stay pretty close ot 10 minute mile working my way down, other than mile 8 that I think was due to a long water stop. I felt fairly strong through the race other than a few knee and hip pains but these never became major issues. I took 3 stinger chews at one point in the race, and a gel at another. What would you do differently?: Nothing, I think I executed this fairly well as a good training run with a largely negative split. Just continuing to run more will help. Post race
Warm down: Water, Pizza, kolache, wandering, drive home, go to the alamo and watch the weekly installment of Walking dead. What limited your ability to perform faster: Training. Event comments: Another good race by Onurmark. Last updated: 2011-11-03 12:00 AM

Got bib, wandered around a bit. This was an afternoon race so no early morning issues. I was also treating it as a training run as I was scheduled to do 9 miles as part of my Half Mary plan.
Nothing much. I wasn't trying to win and was planning on running the first 3 using my wife as a pacer, this would be good warmup.
