Run
Comments: I felt really good. Everyone started out clumped together and it was really hard to pass, but things soon thinned out when we hit the woods. I traded positions with a few people throughout the first part of the race. I pushed hard on the hills and lengthened my stride on the flat open sections. This is always a slower course for me since I'm not much of a trail runner, but I was pleased with my time. What would you do differently?: Maybe try to get out of the pack earlier so I'm not stuck behind slower runners for so long. Post race
Warm down: Walked over to the tent and ate some Oreos and drank Gatorade. Changed in to warm, dry clothes and went back to the tent for soup, bagels, chips, and more of the great food spread. Hung around to accept my award; a hand made mug with the event logo on it. What limited your ability to perform faster: Limited training on trails and body weight. Event comments: This is one of my favorite races. I did it last year too, and I think they have some of the best post-race food around. The course is great, and it draws some great athletes from around the state. I'd love to make this an annual part of my race schedule. Last updated: 2011-11-08 12:00 AM

Woke up at 5:45AM and packed the bag for the race. Packed a banana breakfast wrap for the road, and headed out. I was not pre-registered so I needed to get to the park early to register.
I hit the bathrooms and changed into race clothes. Did some dynamic stretching and jogged a bit. Spent most of the time trying to stay warm.
