Run
Comments: Ran quickly today, but not fast. I've got a 20 miler tomorrow, so I didn't want to go flat out. I found myself going too fast at times and had to throw out the anchor. Split 5k at 26:09. What would you do differently?: Not play softball for the first time of the year the night before. Not have to run 20 the next day. Basically, I could have run this race quite a bit quicker than I did, but a) I was hurting and b) I didn't want to be more hurting for Sunday's LSR. Post race
Warm down: Walked around and chatted with the race director (gal I know who sucked me into doing this run in the first place). Had some oranges (delicious!), bananas, and 1/2 a bagel. What limited your ability to perform faster: Throwing the brakes on when I started getting caught up in the moment. Event comments: Great run, and I'll definitely be back next year. Got up and had a bagel and coffee. Went to my running room clinic and watched the lecture on training by heart rate. Sipped water and gatorade.
Got to the race just minutes before it began. Went and lined up at the starting line. That was my warm-up.
