Pre-race routine:

Woke up @ about 4am. Had 2 cups of coffee,pb&j sandwich. Ate banana after arriving at race and a 5 hour energy as the race started.
Event warmup:

Did some brisk walking and mild stretching. Used the first mile as an easy paced run to warm-up due to the crowd.

I was ahead of my planned pace by about :10 the first 12 to 13 miles. Then fell to pace from miles 14-15 but miles 16-18 were incredibly difficult with long stretches of inclines and no shade. Pace fell to about 12:30's and I maintained it throughout the finish. Had difficulty with cramps in my calfs nearing the finish and had terrible stomache pains from about 14 to the finish that made eating difficult. Felt like I had a belt squeezing my mid-section.
What would you do differently?:

Need to address my nutrician issues. This isn't the first time I've had stomach pain during a long hot race. Will need to figure something out before IM in August. It was better this time since it didn't hit until after the 13 mile marker but the 2nd half was an issue

Warm down:

Long slow walk stopping to stretch slowly.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The heat was the biggest factor. Had not trained in hot conditions.

Event comments:

It was a wonderful race. More hills than I expected but it wouldn't have been an issue making my goals had it been about 10 degrees cooler.

Course: Course was terribly hilly and it was hot. It was 72 degrees at the 1/2 way point and was aout 83 degrees by the finish.
