Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 4am and had 2 servings of oatmeal, a banana, coffee, and sipped on Fluid Performance until race time. Also took one GU 10min before the start.
Event warmup:

We were running a little later than I'd like so I just did a quick run with some speed to get my heart rate up a little. Also a little bit of stretching.

What would you do differently?:

I'm not sure what happened, I really do feel I'm capable of doing better...at least a 3:15. It's possible that I didn't get enough fluids and electrolyte through the first half of the race since I was a little worried about having too much.

Warm down:

Just walking around, went to get the post race pizza that hit the spot, waited for my brother and friend to finish.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Event comments:

I really like this race, very well organized with lots of volunteers, spectators, and entertainment along the course. Right now, if nothing changes too much with school I may be doing this race again next year.

Course: Very nice course, kind of a figure 8 making a loop through U of I at first to the east and than then another loop to the west going through some nice parts of Champaign.
