Swim
Comments: For my second OWS, I really enjoyed this. Much better start. Staggered based on my time I provided. I ran into a few others and they ran into me but all in all it was very good. I didn't panic or stress. I need to get a wetsuit as this would have reduced my total swim time for sure. What would you do differently?: Get a wetsuit. Transition 1
Comments: Again, this was easy. I had chosen a rack position at the end so I could find it easier. I did have difficulty clipping into the peddles which was distracting. But this was after I had crossed the timing mat so it showed up in my bike time. Everything was laid out well and I had no problems getting on the road. What would you do differently?: I guess I could try leaving my shoes clipped in and putting them on while I ride. But I'm more concerned about safety and not wrecking my bike. Bike
Comments: My bike continues to be my best event. Finished 8 out of 26 in my age group. Bike performed flawlessly. Fastest 16 miles ever for me. What would you do differently?: Nothing Transition 2
Comments: Transition went very well. No problem racking my bike or getting into my running shoes. Very smooth. What would you do differently?: Nothing Run
Comments: My right hamstring locked up within the first mile as seems to be the case with my last 3 events. I had to walk twice going up hills for about 2 minutes total. This really made me mad. But it finally settled down and I finished the last 3 miles running. This event continues to be my weakest. I was not pleased. What would you do differently?: Need to put more electrolytes in my body. I think that might help my cramping. Still unsure if I'm pushing myself too hard on the bike. Bike to Run transition is my weakness although I do well during brick training. The hills are my problem. Post race
Warm down: None What limited your ability to perform faster: Wetsuit, hamstring cramping, first time not knowing the course layout. Event comments: Loved this event. Excellent venue and organization. Perfect spot for a race. Just wished I lived closer so I could swim in the lake. No issues whatsoever. Last updated: 2011-11-15 12:00 AM

Got up at 3:30am. Drank my coffee and ate my normal pre-workout breakfast. Left the house at 5am. Picked up some oatmeal at McDonalds to eat an hour before race. Arrived a little after 6am. Very relaxed.
Stretches.
