![]() Run
Comments: It was good. I st myself a goal of finishing under 50 minutes, and I did. My shins didn't bother me as much as I thought that they might while I was running/walking. I have to admit though, I stopped jogging for the most par after the first mile, I did some jogging at the end, and I probably would have done more but damn my underarms hurt. What would you do differently?: Wear a different shirt. My arms chafed like crazy. Jog more. I know I could have put more speed into it if I really really tried. but I also felt like the jogging was slowing my walking down enough to hurt more than help. Probably not true. But that's how I felt. ![]() Post race
Warm down: Not much of a warm down. I stretched some and mde my way over to the medical tent for ice for my shins which started to hurt as soon as I slowed down and began meandering. I also drank some more water, and ate a small package of sun chips. Event comments: Well for something I decided to do at 10 last night, it was a good experience. I made the goals I set for myself, and I know that I can do more. Last updated: 2006-04-30 12:00 AM

Got up this morning, and drove down there to see if they had late registration this morning as well. They did. It snowed a little as I was making my way there. After registering I had 2 hours to kill, so I wandered around, put on some pants (since it was chilly) drank water and gatorade, ate my trail mix bar and a banana.
Stretched a lot, mostly my calves, which were tight. Kept moving so that I wouldn't start cold. Hoped that my shin splints wouldn't bother me.
