Total Time = 48m 55s
Overall Rank = 170/997
Age Group = M30-34
Age Group Rank = 70/170
Pre-race routine:

Walked the mile to the race site and jogged for 5 min. Used the restroom and then waited in staging for 10-15 minutes
Event warmup:

Jogging, stretching and just hopping around. It was cold out so I just tried to hide in the crowd.
Run
  • 48m 55s

Comments:

I really enjoyed the run. Plenty of porta-johns at the race venue. There was no line at all!! I liked the course and it was all well organized.
What would you do differently?:

Move myself to the front at the start so the first mile isn't so crowded.
Post race
Warm down:

Talked with Kurt Acker and walked back to my truck and stretched.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The first mile was pretty crowded so my first mile was almost 2 min slow from my goal.

Event comments:

I think there was a mixup with my timing because my friend started ahead of me (I could see him about 5-7 rows ahead of me) and I finished +/-30 seconds ahead of him but he is listed right ahead of me on the results. Not a big deal since we aren't in the running for medals or anything but now I have no bragging rights!! Bummer. I rated the post race as average but I had to go right away to make it for Thanksgiving dinner so I couldnt really rate it. I had fun though.
