Pre-race routine:

Up early-ate oatmeal and drank water. Set up transition area-spent too much time there-kept second quessing myself.
Event warmup:

Swam a little since this was my first ocean swim.

Choppy but fun. Concentrated on form and breathing with the waves-trying not to swallow too much water.

Took my time gettion out of wetsuit-I'm used to a longer run to transition area so I wasn't prepared to be at my bike so soon. Cobblestones made it difficult to get into clips.
What would you do differently?:

Would have kept my shoes clipped to my pedals like I usually do rather than run in the bike shoes

Horrilbe run. More mentally tough than physically tough. Last mile felt uncomfortable-pressure in chest-maybe drank too much on run.

Drink less, better mental preparation

the run-mentally psyched myself out

First time doing St. Anthony's and had an awesome experience. Will doit again next year!
