Swim
Comments: I did not do enough swim training in the last month. I must remedy that. This was my first tri swim with a wet suit (Body Glove) and I found it to be a help! What would you do differently?: Train a bit more ... :) Transition 1
Comments: Very slow putting on my socks and shoes and stuff. I forgot to take my gels with me. What would you do differently?: Not much else I can do, I am just slow in putting on my shoes and socks and stuff. Bike
Comments: I could have gone just a tad faster. What would you do differently?: I would not coast the last 100 meters in order to clip out of my pedals safely. Transition 2
Run
Comments: I took a power gel before the run but it did not kick in until the 3rd or 4th km. That first km took me an eternity. I did pick up as each km passed but too late to do any good ... although I did finish with a nice kick. What would you do differently?: Ingest a power gel long before I finish the bike leg. Post race
Warm down: Walked around. What limited your ability to perform faster: I am old and slow and of course, I still had cramps from yesterday's bout of food poisoning. Event comments: This was the 27th running of this annual race. It is the oldest tri in Canada and is always well run. Last updated: 2006-05-01 12:00 AM

Set up in the transition area. Made sure everything was there and ready.
Took the bike out for a short run to ensure that all was okay.
