Comments:

Great race for me. A little slow in the first miles (b/c of crowds), but happened upon two runners I'd met at coliseum restroom line around mile 7~8. Great pacing with them for much of remainder of race.

Pace slowed a little on hills south of lake, and I seemed to have trouble getting back to pace I wanted. However, picked up decently around mile 24 and really pushed it the last mile for a really strong finish.

Alternate water and Gatorade at aid stations, one Powerbar Gel around mile 21. (Just after hills south of lake.)

Post race
Warm down:

Waited to congratulate the guys I paced with, then headed indoors to get warm. Stretched while waiting in line for food (hot soup!). Changed clothes and got warm before heading back outdoors for the car.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Unfortunately, needed three (very quick) restroom breaks. Need to not overhydrate the day prior.

Event comments:

Fair Park venue is much better than when I ran from American Airlines center in 2009. Decent start, well-marked course, nice finishing area. Despite the torrential downpour throughout the race, aid stations were well-staffed. Crowds were only OK, because of the rain.

Post-race was well done: free phones to make calls; efficient recovery of bag drops; food was: chips, pretzals, hot soup, bagels, bananas, Gatorade, and beer.

Only disappointment was the poor finisher shirts.
