Run
Comments: I simply went out too fast too soon. My pace at the start was going to be 8:30 for the first couple of miles. I was at 8:15 and felt just fine. But my HR was already quite elevated. I had a gel right before the the race instead of 15 min prior. I already did not feel like taking more in. Skipped the gel at mid point and paid for it. I picked up my pace at turn around, but I was gassed by mile 10... from that point on it was damage control and I did not feel so great either. What would you do differently?: Get there are warm up properly like I had planned to. forget pace targets and just go out and get my HR down to start, then start increasing it after I have proper nutrition on board. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Nutrition because I went too fast too soon. Event comments: Weather was a factor when it usually isn't. It was 25F with 30 mph winds. Snow on the ground. It did not have an overall impact on my race, but it was cooooold. Last updated: 2011-12-03 12:00 AM

Ate my usual granola and banana and some protein. I could not sleep so I got up early.
None, I was actually late to the event. It was a 45 minute drive and there was some weather. Got there and had to meet friend for packet and then get a couple of packets to other friends. Ran around for 10 minutes trying to hook up.Started the race about 30 seconds after the gun went off trying to get my number on and Garmin started.
