Swim
Comments: It was tough. I wasn't nearly ready for the swim as I thought I was. I spent a lot of time doing the breast stroke. There was one time where I thought I wasn't going to make it, but I just kept pushing through and was finally out of the water. That was an amazing feeling. What would you do differently?: I need to work on my swimming, a lot. I have plans to take more swimming lessons in the next few weeks Transition 1
Comments: Was happy here, took the time to really settle down from the terrible swim What would you do differently?: Work faster. I was pretty frustrated with my swim, and that really slowed things down a lot Bike
Comments: It was a good ride, it rained a bit from mile 8-12. I passed a few people on the bike, that felt great. I can't really complain about my bike ride at all What would you do differently?: I need a road bike. My Trek 7.2fx is not made for Triathlons. I am working too hard to maintain a decent speed. Overall I am happy with it though. Transition 2
Comments: Good time here, legs felt great What would you do differently?: Nothing Run
Comments: I was tired and ready to be done. I don't feel that I pushed myself as hard as I should have on the run. I got passed by 2 people, but never did any passing. Lots of walking untilt he final mile, pretty much ran the whole last mile What would you do differently?: Train harder on my run, my run training seemed to get neglected Post race
Warm down: Talked to family, ate, drank. What limited your ability to perform faster: Training/Weight Event comments: It was a great day. This was my first triathlon, and I am very happy with my performance. I never really believed anyone when they told me that this would become an addiction, but now I do. I have already signed up for my next one in 6 weeks. I look forward to training harder/smarter for that one. Last updated: 2011-12-04 12:00 AM

This has been a long time coming for me. In 3 months I have quit smoking, become sober from alcohol, lost 30lbs, and have become a better person all around.
My alarm went up at 4:30am. I was able to eat half an english muffin with peanut butter, then was out the door. I made the drive to West Lake park and got my transition set up. I met a fellow BT member. It rained for about an hour before the race. "It's about to go down"
Not a lot, I did some light streching, walked around in the rain, talked to my family that was there, then made the walk to the swim start.
