Run
Comments: I made a really bad decision and knew I was making it, but did it anyways. I started with the 2 hour pace group, even though I knew I was not ready. It was okay for the first 6 miles, each mile was ~9 mins. Then I got a really bad cramp i my right side. I tried to run through it for a couple of minutes, but finally had to walk and I lost the pacer. From then on I started to walk all the aid stations and walked the last 1/3 of the hill at mile 9. My left achilles was really hurting and I stopped to stretch it a couple of times. Then around mile 10 the bottom of my left foot started to hurt. Fun. I need to figure out how to stretch out mu bladder because I had to stop at the port potty around mile 10. First half was 58 min and the second half was 70 min with all my stopping. I need to work on that. I really did not now that FW was so hilly. I was also dressed way to warm. I ditched my gloves after a couple miles and took off the arm warmers at about mile 5. Really wish I had worn capris. What would you do differently?: Stick to the pace I planned to run. Post race
Warm down: I was freezing when I stopped and grabbed a mylar blanket that kind of helped. Drank some water and stretched a bit. Went in and got some food and my finisher t-shirt Ate some vanilla Blue Bell, yummy, but made me colder. Found the bus back to the hotel. Shower was good. Drive home not so much. What limited your ability to perform faster: Bad decision making. Event comments: Very organized and well run. Lots of food after. 2 shirts and a medal! Last updated: 2011-12-05 12:00 AM

Stayed in Ft Worth and was really glad I did, especially since packet pick-up was there. I woke up about 5 and ate a bagel. Could not decide what to wear, and finally went with tights, short sleeves, arm warmers, and gloves. Had a shirt over that I ditched in the corral. Took the 5:45 bus over. Wandered around and timed the portapotty line perfectly so I got to the corral as they played the national anthem. Had a honey stinger gel before starting.
None.
