Comments:

Almost certainly somewhat shorter. Cold water was a little bracing but not chilling. The only problem was that my hands got really numb, so I couldn't feel the water too well. I also hyperventilated at the start (also probably from the cold), and my stroke rate stayed higher than I intended. Navigation was good, and I was comfortable with the moderate bumping and kicking.
What would you do differently?:

Take more warm-up, even though the water might be cold.
