Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 4:30, stepped outside to see how bad the weather was bad. Rain was coming down pretty heavy. Ate breakfast, said some prayers for a good and safe race, and off I went.
Event warmup:

Very impressed and thankful for all the volunteers that helped mark everyone in the pouring down rain. It was crazy trying to set up transition area, and really funny watching everyone (myself included) trying to keep their stuff dry.

With everyone trying to keep their stuff dry, it made for a very crowded transition area. Everything, and I mean everything was soaked. Decided that putting on wet socks was pointless, so I went without (for the first time).

Felt really good. Not really fare to compare it to another race, since it was shortened, but it still felt really good.

Warm down:

Said thank you to all the volunteers and got the hell out of there. Jumped in the car with a dry towel waiting for me and turned on the heat.

Course: Due to rain, course was shortened to 1 loop instead of 2. Course was very wet and challenging with puddles everywhere. This was my first time to ride in the rain, so I decided to take it easy and be smart.
