Run
Comments: There were tons of dogs, strollers, etc so I was sure it was going to be really hard to run. I got kind of near the front and it was fine, Basically no dodging and weaving. The run was fun and seemed well planned. A couple of parts were a little dark and the pavement is kind of rough. I felt really disjointed the first half a mile. Hopefully at the end of this PT, I'll feel better. After I warmed up, I felt pretty okay except my left achilles was a bit ouchy. I got lots of comments on my costume. It was not to bad to run in, but I did get really warm. Cheap crushed velvet is not quite the same as tech fabric. Post race
Warm down: Walked back to the Anatole lobby and waited for Natalie. The post race party was nice. There were lots of food and drink options, enough room to walk around. Band playing was fun. And the finish line you could not walk 3 feet with out running into huge tubs of recovery drinks (which seems a bit overkill for a 5k). It was quite the contrast to the Vegas Rock and Roll marathon that had water, bananas and pretzels - that race was $150!! I'll definitely do this race again. Event comments: Really fun race, well organized. Last updated: 2011-12-13 12:00 AM
