Swim
Comments: fine. sighting was good. Kept with group. What would you do differently?: Nothing really. Not too fast, not too slow. Transition 1
Comments: Took it easy during T1. Didn't want to forget stuff and needed to regain composure. Not upset about time. What would you do differently?: With experience, I should be able to these a bit faster. Bike
Comments: A little disappointed I didn't get in under 3 hours, but that was probably unrealistic. Somewhat comic note: Got stung about 6 times by same yellow jacket when it got inside my tri top. Good thing I'm not allergic. (Got stung before race started as well.) He's dead now. I'm not. Transition 2
Comments: pretty slow. Not sure that is a problem. Again, needed to compose myself. Run
Comments: Took off a little too fast, but felt right. Then heat got to me. At the suggestion of friend, put ice down tri top at every opportunity. Helped. What would you do differently?: Try to take less time walking through water stops. Stop later, start running again sooner. Post race
Warm down: Saw some friends. Chatted. Ate a lot. Had a beer. What limited your ability to perform faster: Being 49 years old!!! Not yet enough bike miles. Event comments: The number of water stations during the run was OUTSTANDING! It was necessary, but you usually don't get this. People putting out sprinklers for the runners was much appreciated. Thank you! Last updated: 2011-12-20 12:00 AM
