Run
Comments: The race was fun and amazing. At the same time it was frustrating and painful! By the second lap the muddy path was churned up so much...no way to get around any mud. It was very difficult to keep my footing. I also tried to find some ways around the water. My legs were really hurting in the last 2 miles. Everyone was so friendly. I ran with a guy for a while and he works with a really good friend of mine. What would you do differently?: Run right through the mud without a care at all times. I wouldn't spend time trying to get around any of the water crossings...just go right through. Post race
Warm down: Put on dry clothes! Changed clothes in the car. lol Turned up the heat. What limited your ability to perform faster: I had been biking everyday before this race. Ran only a couple times. First time for a trail run...wasn't prepared for mud and water. Just need to be better trained for it. Event comments: Awesome, fun, crazy race for my first trail 50K. Stayed in Columbia City. We drove up Friday night. My brother, brother in law and me. 6:00am wake up. Breakfast at hotel. Apple juice, gatorade and waffle. Then drive to the venue.
Walk from the car to registration for packet pick up. We saw that the parking lot was empty at packet pick up so my brother went back to get the car and park close! Good call because they delayed the race start 15 minutes so we sat in the warm car.
