Comments: beautiful day but very sunny and the course did not offer much shade. some tough hills at around mile 5 and mile 11. nice run along wollaston beach, marina bay and then back toward quincy center. What would you do differently?: eaten a banana for breakfast instead of apple - my calves were cramping at mile 11/12 and i think the potassium could have helped prevent the cramping. it was so sunny in parts that a visor or running hat could have been helpful, especially when running along the ocean b/c of the glare off the water. Warm down: ate 2 bananas to alleviate calf cramping, drank a bottle of water, relaxed and hung out with family. What limited your ability to perform faster: wish there were more water stations on such a hot day. i ran the first 5 miles with my friend and i probably ran them a bit faster than i should have (9:45 min/mile). should have held back more at beginning but at the same time, i think that helped improve my time from my last HM.
