Run
Comments: This was my first 50K. It was fantastic. I took it nice and easy the whole time. Never felt too beat up. Felt better at the end of it that I normally do after a marathon. 4 aid stations per loop, mostly 3-4 miles apart. Good volunteers, good ultra food/gel/soup at stops. The soup tasted so good at the last stop, after all of the sugary drinks for 4.5 hours. What would you do differently?: Nothing. I wasn't trying to set any records, just finish comfortably and make my flight home. Post race
Warm down: Ate a fantastic bowl of chili, took a hobo shower in the bathroom and drove straight to the airport What limited your ability to perform faster: nothing Event comments: GREAT race. No frills. Patagonia long sleeve tech shirt - still ugly. Very organized. Great aid stations and volunteers. Great trails - just in the middle of nowhere. Very well marked, never got worried about being lost, even though I ran for the last 2 hours without seeing another runner. Would highly recommend it. Last updated: 2012-01-01 12:00 AM
