Pre-race routine:

me and the fam. arrived at Buffalo Wild Wings about 30 minutes before the race...chatted with Adam B., Brittany N., and Summer S. in Buffalo Wild Wings.
Event warmup:

no warm-up...no stretching. BUT, enjoyed the kids running in the kiddie-K prior to the 5K. Even little Eric got into the run. :)

Comments:

just went out ballz to the wallz.
I noticed I was 7th going into the halfway turnaround...passed one dude somewhere between 2.5 and 2.75 miles approximately.
Seeing the kids cheering me on and running through the finishing chute at the end was a blast. :)
What would you do differently?:

Warm down:

cheered on the rest of the runners with Kim and the kids.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Strained a L hip flexor...in all my years I've never had this injury before. I just ran through it...but it was there from about 1/4 mile into the race to the end and continues to hurt.

Event comments:

For those who aren't gluten-free like me and my fam., it's one of the best spreads I've seen anywhere! Buffalo Wild Wings, chicken wraps, included. Phenomenal spread, and great environment. We enjoyed the fresh apples donated by the local orchard...bananas and water too.
