Swim
Comments: Very happy with the swim. Faster than expected due to the current. I am a very weak swimmer and the last tri I did (sprint) was a disaster in the water. I did not panic this time and felt very comfortable. Felt well trained for the distance. What would you do differently?: Get a swim coach. I have seen significant gains in the past 6 months, but am still very slow. Transition 1
Comments: I realized at the swim start that I forgot to put out my quick release watch to move the watch from the bike to my wrist for the run. During T1 I wasted a minute or so ruffling through my bag looking for it. I thought I knew where it was. Could not find it. Turned out I left it at home. What would you do differently?: Just accept it and move on. Don't waste time. Bike
Comments: The hills were not as bad as I expected. I am lucky enough to live around hills and the training paid off. Five minutes faster than expected. Strong headwind on the way back. What would you do differently?: Not sure if I drank enough water/nutrition. I did something wrong here as can be seen in the run. Transition 2
Comments: Went well. Someone messed up my transition area pretty bad, which was frustrating. Run
Comments: Cramped from the beginning. Not sure if it was a nutrition issue. Did everything the same as training. Maybe didn't get enough nutrition/water on the bike, and it was very hot. I ended up walking every transition area and the hill. What would you do differently?: Train harder. Suck it up and don't walk. Post race
Warm down: Drink water. What limited your ability to perform faster: The heat. Event comments: Overall I am happy with my results. My first Oly.
