Comments: Started way too quickly. Very poor pacing. Ran the first minute at sub 6 minute pace, and then paid the price. My legs started burning (first time I've felt that). My heart rate got really high very quickly and I couldn't get it back down. Pacing, pacing, pacing! First time I felt my legs burning before my lungs felt like they were going to explode. I seemed to run the race at less than max effort, but my HR got really high. What would you do differently?: Start at a more reasonable pace to try to keep my heart rate lower. Better overall pace strategy continues to be a challenge in my races. Post race

Ate breakfast at 10am - Go Lean Cereal, OJ, Milk. Was early enough that I did not even notice during the race. Drank a few sips of G@ 30 mins before.
10 minute walk to warm up. Spent time on the gym to stay warm.
